Asha Mahila Milk Producer Company Limited was registered in March, 2016 as Producer Company under Part IXA of the Companies Act, 1956 and commenced its operation from November, 2016 with financial help form DHANII (Tata Trusts). It is wholly owned by more than 11,000 women from underprivileged areas of Rajasthan. During the previous year its turnover was approx. 40 Crores. It purchases Raw milk from its women members at fair and competitive price. Integrity, fairness and transparency in its working is the USP of Asha Mahila Milk Producer Company Limited.
The Company founded with the aim to provided livelihood to poor tribal rural women. Currently it purchases raw milk from more than 25,000 women members from 500 villages in underprivileged areas of Rajsthan through a fair and transparent mechanism. By providing a fair market for raw milk and encouraging best animal husbandry practices it helping women for self employment and wealth creation. Apart from members more than 250 people including 44 employees earning their livelihood through Asha Mahila Milk Producer Company Limited.
What is the problem the startup is solving?
In the operational area of the startup is a backward area where farmers are facing problem in selling Raw milk and following old animal husbandry practices. Mostly women are not educated therefore participation and recognition of women in livelihood is very less in operational area of Startup. Due to lesser source of livelihood people migrate for livelihood.
How does your startup propose to solve this problem?*
Asha Mahila Milk Producer Company Limited provided an organised transparent platform for sale of raw milk and encouraging best animal husbandry practices like artificial insemination, use of Chaff Cutter, silage, Ration Balancing etc. The startup is also working towards women empowerment as wholly owned by women farmer members and all producer director of startup are women.
What is the uniqueness of your solution?
The uniqueness of Startup is ownership and management are separated. As it is owned by poor tribal rural women and managing by professionals. Startup makes timely payment to women farmers members through digital mode and providing Productivity Enhancement Services artificial insemination, Ration Balancing, infertility and mastitis treatment etc free of cost or minimal charges to members. The startup organises various training programmes for its women members to aware them for best animal husbandry practices. As the startup wholly owned by Women farmer members startup gives bonus and dividend apart form raw milk purchase price.
How does your startup generate revenue?
The Asha Mahila Milk Producer Company Limited purchases raw milk from its women farmer members and sell to market at best price after necessary testings and chilling . Consideration of Raw milk is the primary of revenue to startup. Apart from above startup provides Productivity Enhancement services at minimal cost.

Currently, more than 25000 farmer women are associated with the Company as a member, selling Raw-milk, getting benefits from Technical Input Services and became self-dependent. Company issue shares to Members deducting money from milk payment. The company is helping its members to livelihood by providing a transparent mechanism to sell raw milk and to create wealth by issuing its shares from milk payment.
